NO aid?!

I got my finaid letter a few weeks ago--NO need-based financial aid to WUSTL. How can that be? I've yet to hear about merit-based, but I can't imagine it's all that much. (I didn't apply to any of the major WashU-based scholarships.) I'm hardly fabulously wealthy, but I guess I'm in that icky tax bracket where you don't get a lot of aid...still, nothing at all? I can't go to this school with no aid. Is this anyone else's case too? Does merit-based make up for it?

I’m in the same boat. If you don’t get any of the big merit aid, there only other merit is mixed merit/financial, but I think people have heard about those already as well.

Same here. I wonder how many of the students on campus are paying full price. It’s quite a stretch even for my two-income family.

The Wash U web site says that 60% of students get some financial aid, either merit or need-based or both.
