No alumni interview yet!?!?

People I know from my city have already gotten their alumn interviews, but I havent been notified at all about one!

Is this something I should be worried about? Do you think I can contact Cornell and ask them for one or why I didn't get one?

Don't freak.

Have you received confirmation that your app is in? That all materials are received?

If so, don't worry. Not everyone gets an interview (esp. those living in cities).
Interviews aren't an indication of likelihood, and they are the least important part of an application.

If not; get on that.

actually when i meant city i meant a relatively small college town. but I still would like an interview, because I think I'm pretty good at interviewing.

also according to this on my status page:

*Cornell is currently receiving a very large volume of application materials. During our peak application-processing period, from December 15 through mid-February, our staff will be unable to respond to phone calls or email inquiries about application materials. Additionally, the online application status materials list will be unavailable between December 15 and mid-February. For the next several weeks we will devote all of our time and effort toward getting freshman applications to selection committees so that they may be given a thorough review. In mid-February, when our mail processing nears completion, we will notify you if we are missing materials from your application, and we will provide you with an opportunity to complete your application. In the meantime, please do not send duplicate copies of your application materials.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. *

we don't know yet besides the checkmarks on commonapp...

thanks for your input!

any other suggestions?

There's not a specific rhyme or reason as to why Cornell interviews the people that it does. I live in the Bay Area (should be plenty of Cornell alums around) and never received an interview. In fact, I attended one of their local events and they even asked people who hadn't received interviews if they wanted an interview. So I requested an interview but still no one contacted me. I was accepted anyway.

I've yet to get one...

Although I figure with such a large volume of applicants, it's probably no easy feat to interview everyone. I did go to their Fall Diversity Hosting and I guess somewhat had an interview with the Head Admissions Officer from Engineering at the football game, so maybe that counted. lol

^ Haha, hey that's pretty cool.
