Hi, I'm new to this site so maybe this has been asked a thousand times before. If so, sorry.

I applied to a Graduate Program at a well-known reputable University for Spring 2011. Met all criteria and paid fees prior to deadlines.

For several months my status on the admissions site stated everything needed was recieved and a decision was pending. Finally, about a month ago my status indicated that a decision had been reached and a communication was being sent.

I never received a communication. I call the school and get transfered each time to leave voicemails that aren't returned. I send e-mails and no one responds. The deadline for regular registration for Spring 2011 at the school has already passed. Even if I am accepted I'd have to pay for late registration, if in fact I am informed in time.

I'm getting pretty angry about this. My situation isn't one where a prompt decision is critical because I've applied to many schools, or have to make plans on dwelling or finances, but I can't help but think how that probably is the case for a lot of students, so this seems to me almost criminal - to just not let someone know what the decision is.

Any advice here? I was considering writing the State Assembly, Members of the School Board, etc. I mean, it could be just one person sitting on their hands, but I can't imagine that a solid applicant who paid a fee and met all the elaborate admissions criteria should have to watch the semester for which they applied get underway without someone letting them know whether or not if they've been accepted. Does this happen?!
