How detrimental is it for you to have no AP classes on your resume if your school doesn't offer them? Will they know that it's because your school doesn't offer them?

Does it vary at Ivy league schools? at other reach schools?

If your school doesn't offer them, then no it won't hurt you. You can try taking community college classes though to improve your chances if you are still worried.

yes...I was just going to say that...u DEFINITELY need to show them that you are ready to handle their course works....try online courses too..legitimate ones of course!

It would probably be included in the letter from the GC. Schools put in their stats, how many students, what the grading system is like, etc. It won't hurt you, my school doesn't offer AP and lots of people go to Ivy League schools.

^umm..at least for your sake, you SHOULD try to take higher courses than Honors.....whether it's IVy schools doesn't matter......

People have been getting into excellent colleges forever without AP classes. If your HS doesn't offer them, stop sweating about it. The admissions committees know that not every HS on the planet has them.

Just do your best in the courses available to you, and be glad you have a life outside of the pursuit of the "perfect" college application.

Wishing you all the best.

My school offered 3 AP classes and I never took any of them. If yours doesn't offer it, you're fine.
