No AP Credit for Physics B?

The Physics B examination is not listed on this page:

<a href="http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/educators/counselors/adminfo/freshman/advising/credit/berkeley.html%5B/url%5D">http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/educators/counselors/adminfo/freshman/advising/credit/berkeley.html</a></p>

So, does that mean that you get ZERO credits for passing this exam (whether a 3, 4, o a 5)? No general UC credit or anything?

That's true. It's not really equivalent because it doesn't have calculus. As far as I know there is no course in Cal that offers non-calculus physics, so you get no credit.

Thanks for the reply.

So, absolutely no UC (based on that website link) accepts AP Physics B? I'm guessing there's got to be at least some colleges out there that do, otherwise what's the point of taking this exam (No point if you're going to a UC?)?

CoE doesn't accept Physics B, while L&S does. So that's too bad if you're in engineering since they don't think its worth anything since there's no calculus in it.

Golden Bear - Yeah, I'm CoE (EECS). Oh well, guess I just won't take it tomorrow then.

I don't believe the 8-series is calculus based. Also, classes like Physics for Future Presidents certainly doesn't need calculus, although that's not your run-of-the-mill physics class.

Edit: apparently Physics 8A needs Math16A which is calculus...well there's not much difference between Physics 7A and 8A is there?

is there at least elective credits for passing Physics B? anything that might help in getting sophomore standing is not a waste, sorta

I think you should get empty credits for passing it, although I don't think getting sophomore standing is THAT helpful in getting priority in classes.

i get what you're saying. i guess i'll just study for econ instead
