no AP math!

Taking that into consideration, when my own guidance counselor told me not to take the class, I knew it was not worth the AP distinction. She gave B+s to some top math students for arbitrary reasons/turned them off from math. im not complaining/failing to deal with a problem like a mature adult. im weighing the pros and cons and its not worth it.

hopefully*** i study hard for the math 2 over the sum,m,er and get a 750
that would be a dream come true and maybe that would compensate for no ap math

I took IB Math SL my senior year in high school and I still got in. Granted, I took Calc AB but junior year but I didn’t record my score so I don’t know if they even counted it.

I’d go with an IB course over an honors course.

If you are serious about getting in, take the Calc class at your local Jr. College at the same time as taking your high school classes. That will show them that you are stepping up to challenge yourself as well as are capable of solving apparent difficult conflicts. Too much work? Then re-consider your desire to get into Columbia.

^That’s pretty harsh. You don’t have to take Calculus to get into Columbia. IB Math SL covers Calc anyway.
