Hi! I go to a small private school that doesn't offer ap, but claims that all of its courses are rigorous (they just won't prepare you for the test). A lot of the classes are the on the same topics as the ap tests. Should I take the test anyways? Will I be at a disadvantage for top tier schools if I don't? Can I qualify for skipping college courses with sat subject tests alone?finally, what is a good number to take? Sorry for so many questions. Thanks!

Schools look to see if you took the most rigorous coursework available at your school. They do not hold it against you if you school doesn’t offer AP or IB. Just be sure to take the hardest track available to you and don’t wimp out on academic courses your senior year. Lots of selective schools want to see that you are still taking full academic load even as a senior.
