Hi, I wanted to know whether or not colleges will look favorably upon students who did not take any APs junior year but still had a heavy course load, including honors precalc, honors chemistry, honors physics, honors latin 3, and others. I intend on taking at least 2-3 APs next year, but I am curious about how "far behind" a student who took APs junior year, college admissions wise. My target school, specifically, is NYU, if that's any indication of how I should be doing.

If you had the option to take APs it does not look great that you took none, especially since most juniors take APUSH and AP English Language at the least their junior year. That being said it is not that big of a deal. Is there any specific reason you did not take APs?

The reason is that I am very much a math and science person and not so much an english and history person, however I will not have met the prerequisites for science and math APs until senior year.

Reasonable reason, though does that mean you are taking English and history that is not honors either?

I am taking honors history, but level 2 english, which at my school is the level right below honors.

Alright, you should be fine. If you were applying to somewhere like Harvard it would be more of an issue. But assuming your grades are strong and you do follow through with your plan for APs next year I see no reason for concern.
