No APs until senior year?!

Where I go to school, the class of 2011 was the first class to be affected by this new curriculum we have to follow as far as selecting classes. Now we really don't have any choice in picking classes, everything is decided for us.

This year, I have two electives, one I'm using for Spanish. I could have used the other to take an AP class, but I chose advanced biology instead, thinking colleges would think better of it for someone going into a science major.

Anyway, at this rate, I will have probably 3 AP classes senior year, but none junior year. How much will this affect me?

Oh, and freshman and sophomore year I used my electives to complete other requirements like art and gym.

I feel like it should say in your secondary school report thingy that you had to follow such a curriculum, and if you explain in the “extra info” section of the commonapp, colleges will understand. Not every school has a thorough selection of AP classes

Ok, thanks :)

If that’s in the context of your school and is explained, it should be fine. Don’t worry too much.
