I'm going to graduate high school without ever taking a bio class. I'm a senior this year. Will this be an issue for colleges? I don't think so because I don't plan on EVER using science and I've taken Physics Honors (F), Chemistry Honors (So), and AP Chemistry (J). What do y'all think?

Graduating HS without ever taking bio D:? You’re going to miss all the fun.

lol. Boo me.

I can’t fathom that. Biology ftw

Biology is the shizzy.

General consensus: Biology >>> Chemistry and Physics >>>(entering another dimension) >>> eating crap >>> environmental/earth science >>> chancing threads on “what are my chances” forum

^ Bull.

The general consensus from my friends and I is

Sex >>> Food >>> Physics >>> Math>>>Chemistry >>> entering another dimension >>> eating crap >>> Biology

@OP, eh you’ll be fine. Depending on your science requirements, you should be able to avoid it. It’s nothing but bland memorization to me.

^ Well said

Yeah, bio sucks. AP Chem is where it’s at. WHERE MY CHEM’ERS AT?

CHEMISTRY!

I wish we had Physics…

Yeah I’m gonna meet the science requirements at my school w/o taking it but I was worried about HPS and the likes.

Check their general science requirements.

It’s holistic and there really are no “requirements” just suggestions. I guess i’m good though.

Math and Physics > Chemistry > Biology > all other subjects.

At OP: yes you need Biology. I’m in the exact same situation at you; I’ve taken Honors Chemistry and will take AP Physics, but I never took Biology (although I took the AP Bio test). I emailed a Carnegie Mellon admission officer and he said that 3 lab sciences are highly suggested in admissions.

What school at carnegie mellon? the humanities school only needed two the last time i checked.

Also it’s suggested. so if u don’t plan on majoring in science does it really matter?

Biology sucks. :D

^^^^ I agree with that, but Computer Science just goes right after chemistry.

I think it might potentially be a problem; it’s just one of those classes that you should take. I guess not taking biology is the equivalent of taking 2 years of a language instead of 3 or 4. I guess it all depends on what college you’re looking at and what major you had in mind, but for a top 10 school or a HYPSM school the lack of a Biology class would pose as a problem.

I’m applying to top schools like Harvard etc. I have a very rigorous schedule and take a lot of AP/Honors classes. I want to major in economics and maybe stats. I don’t want to waste time in bio if I can take classes that pertain to what I want to do.
