<p>well i guess the better question is, could not having a class rank, but clearly having stellar grades hurt you?</p>
<p>yea i wanna know too... i am come from a really competitive school and they dont have rank...becuase the school got sued many times becuase the fued between valedectorians and saludactorians....both wanted to be with valedectorians so they sued the close because they thought the school was being unfair... so they ended up canceling rank</p>
<p>Colleges are supposed to be indifferent to whether your school ranks or not. Many high schools don't bother, or quit doing it like BestMiler1's. Some of these high schools don't bother b/c it's just way too competitive. If colleges were prejudiced against non-ranking high schools they'd lose many good students.</p>
<p>Lots of schools don't rank, it's no big deal. DS's school does not rank and he has received merit $ from two colleges so far.</p>
