No Clue Where I Want To Go

After hearing many helpful suggestions, I was wondering if I could get any suggestions of colleges of which I could attend. I have read about so many schools, and have liked many things about many, but have never really had true criteria. After sitting and talking with my parents I thiugh of a short list of what I would like in a school. First though, I should share a little about my grade. As a sophomore I hope to get an idea of what I want in a college, and maybe even develop some goals of where to go.
4.02 GPA (has gone up .1 In the last two marking periods, and is going up every marking period)
39th Class Ranking out of about 200 (19th Percentile)
Have taken 6 Honors and 1 AP so far
Will be taking 2 Honors and 2 AP next year and 2 AP snd 1 Honors senior year
Have 15 service hours currently
Play JV soccer
Part of interact club
Will volunteer at animal shelter and coach youth basketball over the summer
Will hopefully go into NHS
Some things I do know I would like in a college are
Quality sports teams to be able to go to games periodically
Out of state (I live in NJ)
Welcoming and diverse student body
Something for a kid who like to keep to a small group of friends, but if with friends can dabble in parties or large social events
Academically strong, and with a program to prepare me for pre-med, as I am becoming increasingly interested in joining the medical profession

What do you think your test scores are going to be? This will play a large part in whether or not you get into top schools. From what you’ve said so far, Syracuse University, University of Connecticut, University of Maryland, and Penn State all seem like great options if you want a large university.

What is your financial situation? OOS publics are expensive, so might not be the best option.

You can get the pre-med coursework just about anywhere, and since med school admissions is heavily numbers-based, you might not want a place that is academically rigorous overall. The other pre-meds in you classes will pretty much guarantee that those courses are tough.

Right now the best help your parents can gice you is to let you know how much they can pay. Is there any money saved for your education or not? How much money? If you choose a cheaper place, will they help pay for med school? Ask then to help you run the Net Price Calculators at the websites for Rutgers and a couple of out of state public universities, and see what they think.

Thank you for the suggestions, and I agree, Syracuse has been a school I have looked into, with a family friend already in attendance. Other schools that have caught my interest, (Not even thinking about acceptance) are UMich as my #1, and I also really like Georgetown and Miami.
