Hey Guys. My G.P.A is A 3.885 and i have taken about 6 Ap Courses and done relatively well in high school i'm in the top 7% of my class yet i haven't had any colleges email me or send me anything in the mail. Dozens of my friends have received countless colleges brochures and fee waiver from colleges and emails and they're all below me as far as gpa and class rank goes. Im pretty worried. why haven't i gotten anything?

Have you taken the ACT/SAT yet? I’m pretty sure all those marketing materials come from your test score results.

prob. because God hates you

just a guess though

there is a box on the psat/sat/act which you have to check saying it is ok to share
your info to colleges. I don’t think they share your exact test results, but your email
and address. A college may say 'we want to buy the mailing list of all students who
scored over xxx. or who wrote down a specific major.

We started getting them a few months after taking the psat and
get new rounds every few months.

Be careful what you wish for! If you check that box, you will start to get mail every day for months from five to ten schools. By the time you are a senior, giant envelopes from schools you have no interest in will fill half of your mailbox.
An alternative is to go on the websites of the schools that interest you and fill out their online information request form.

I don’t know any students that received College mail that didn’t take College Board exams. (PSAT, SAT, orACT) did you sit for these tests?

An easy solution is for you to go online and fill out the “request information” or “join our mailing list” forms. :)
