I submitted my payment to Harvard online, using a credit card, but didn't receive a confirmation e-mail. I did receive one for my sending in the common app and the Harvard supplement, though, and for paying for Cornell. Anyone know what's going on or if I should be worried? On the Common App site it gives me a green arrow next to "Payment" (under Harvard).

I don’t know whats going on, but same thing happened to me. App shows as paid, got app/supp confirmation emails, got payment confirmation emails from all my other schools but no Harvard…

Do we need to pay Harvard online, in addition to the common app??

Same problem with Cornell and got an email from them saying they have everything but payment even though have the green triangle next to paid.

I wouldn’t worry about it. Depending on the time when you paid, the Common App’s servers might have been overloaded or something so they haven’t gotten to your payment in the queue yet, in general, most of mine have taken about 1-1.5 hours to get the confirmation email, but as long as you paid on the deadline, I don’t think Harvard having to wait until 3AM to get it’s money will kill it with its billions of dollars in endowment…

Cornell took a few days to process my online payment three weeks ago when I submitted it (and I assume the servers weren’t too burdened at the time). I imagine it is similar with all the universities right now, trying to process thousands of submitted payments and applications all at once. I’d relax and wait a few days. Then, call the schools if it isn’t fixed within 3-5 days, just in case.

Do we need to pay harvard on their website in addition to the normal common app fee??!

No. You only have to pay on the common app website. Its just one application fee.

Trust me, they are just processing tons of info and its taking time to get confirmations out. I submitted my Harvard app in November, and you only have to submit your common app, the supplement, your payment via the common app website, and your school forms and teacher recs. Harvard will send you an e-mail with your APP ID and you can log into a portal and check the status of your application materials after a few days. Then you’ll be able to tell if they received the payment, the app, supplement, and anything you had to mail in (ie transcripts, test scores, school forms, etc.). After two weeks, all of my application materials were accounted for. Just print receipts for everything and keep copies on file JUST IN CASE.
