i applied through commonapp.org
although i didnt get the email from colleges confirming that they received my app, i dont have to worry as long as it says i paid and submitted everything on the commonapp tab, right?

I don't think they e-mail anything, at least not for a few days.

They did email a confirmation, but it takes several days and depends on each school.

my friend who applied to same colleges as me but not using common app got his email confirmations.

Some schools e-mail application payment information. Maybe he got this?

he got the application submission confirmation email from JHU and i didnt.
he used the JHU application and i used the common app with supplements.
we both applied online.
im wondering i didnt get my email since i used the common app, since there's so many people using it.

and same thing happened for amherst.

My guess is that the school will send it out when they get it, they are probably not in the office on New Year's day, but I'm not sure.

theonlyone,

You will get a confirmation e-mail when your application is downloaded at the school to which you are applying.

the weird thing is that my friend applied a day later than me, which is today, and he got it right after
and i applied yesterday and still havent received anything.
is my application correctly submitted?

If he used the Johns Hopkins application, and you used the Common App one, it would be logical he could get his first because with Johns Hopkins own application I'm sure the whole thing is more linked together.
