I have no contact with my non-custodial parent, but the colleges I'm applying to want my non-custodial parent's financial information. Brown University has a waiver petition, which I have completed, but what about the other schools: Yale, Brandeis (especially Brandeis because their submission date for the CSS is Dec. 31 for me), and Tufts. Does anyone have a clue. I am currently writing a letter which I was planning to send to the Financial aid office including all the facts that Brown requested on their petition form. Do you think that Brandeis will require this before the Dec. 31 deadline? Does anyone have any idea what I can do?

i have the same problem and have no clue on what to do, i have no idea where my non-custodial parent is so i cant ask for any info or anything..i need help

You will have to fill out a waiver from all of your schools.

As a first step you should see your guidance counselor so that they can write a letter to the Financial aid office attesting that they have known you for X number of years and to their knowledge it has only been you and your mom (dad) and the noncustodial parent (mom or dad) has not been in the picture. You will need the letter for your schools. Don't worry they write them all the time so they know what to say.
