Just received a reminder from the admissions office stating that the decisions will only be available online this time.
Well, I guess no fat/thin letter suspense for us then… :)

they only send letters to the admitted

Just got an email as well. They just said they won’t be sending letters at all, so I doubt admitted will recieve letters too.

Oh wow, I’m glad I got a likely letter.

I’m assuming this is a way to save money, it kind of makes me worry about the state of their endowment.

I’d rather Brown cut its postage budget than professors or research or dorm maintenance or a host of other items.

true dat *********

I doubt it has anything to do with costs; I would think it’s the Admission Office attempting to be environmentally conscious.

And also I would assume ease… After all mailing out 30,000 letters in a single day from a purely logistical prespective can not be easy at all. That being said, I do not trust the internet. The Online Common App was not easy (It didn’t list all of the school in the CEEB code for family members which ****ed me off to no end).

What irritates me is how late the decisions come out. I mean, 7PM local time? Can’t they let us know a little sooner -_-. I’m sure the 12 hour difference between 7AM and 7PM isn’t much…

Omggg April 1st seems SO FAR AWAY. :(

5 P.M my local time!

Niiice. I’m so glad that there are no conspiracy theories about the email, like on the whole MIT forum :P

I guess it’s smart of them to give applicants different times to check their decisions online, because the site would probably crash otherwise.

I got 6 PM. Why can’t I have 5 PM?

So does everybody on the east coast have 6PM? Does this mean that some people, depending on where they live, will get a decision earlier? I guess this is a good idea: it’ll prevent the servers from crashing.

Nope. I’m on the east coast and got 5PM.

Mine is also 5 pm. But Ayia will know before me, due to the time zone.
Brazil. :)

East coast 5pm for me too
ahhh just a few more weeks!

I got 7pm my time (CST). UGHH. A full three hours after the first wave of decisions is posted. I don’t know how I’ll live, knowing that’s happening while I’m still in limbo. XD

That is weird that I live on the east coast and my decision comes up at 6. Do you think that it will actually come up at 6–an hour after other east coasters–or will it be up at 5 and they just want me to wait to check.

We’re in the midwest…but on east coast time. My daughter’s says 6pm your local time. They surely KNOW everyone is going to start looking at 5pm east coast time anyway.
