No decision yet?

Did anyone not receive their UCR decision today? I didn't and i'm literally freaking out because everyone I know that applied got in today. Not to mention UCR is my #1 choice right now. Post stats if possible!

I haven’t got mines back either. I have been asking around and only one person said they received a reply which was today in the late afternoon. I wouldn’t worry about it. They have thousands of applicants to read over and will definitely give you a answer by February 1st.

I believe UCR sent out acceptances to all students that received a scholarship. My S received a likely letter last month recommending him for admittance and was accepted with a scholarship offer yesterday. My older S received his acceptance last year on Feb 1 with no scholarship. BTW his friend, whom applied the very last day, was accepted in March. Hang in there.

Can you tell me how you knew your child was offered a scholarship? My daughter was accepted yesterday, but there did not appear to be any scholarship offered. She had also received the likely letter.

Go onto her portal (create it first) at UCR. My son got his acceptance yesterday but didn’t immediately create the UCR account until we saw from threads here people had gotten scholarships. He got one, too (Chancellor) it was in his on line account.

I agree I think these are just the scholarship ones so far, so they will likely also be higher average stats than later acceptances. That is how it seems to work on all the historic UC acceptance threads.

Well, I hate to be the exception here, but I don’t think my D got a scholarship, even though she received her acceptance yesterday. Based on her stats, I would not necessarily have expected one, but it does seem odd that she heard so soon without one.

Hopefully they start notifying all of the other applicants. At this point i’m paranoid.

Unfortunately, I suspect they are just doing the highest target stats first. I have twins, one got accepted already the other didn’t but he had gotten a ‘look at us while we are looking at you’ catalog and has a respectable B+ average (unweighted with a ton of APs) and a 2200+ SAT. I think UCR is going the U of Alabama route and are wooing the ones who statistically are less sure to show up, in advance.

Unfortunately, that means I don’t expect my other kid to hear until March.

My S was accepted yesterday. No scholarship offer either. Also I didn’t see anything on his portal. I haven’t filed FAFSA yet. Could that be why no scholarship? His stats are high- 2010 SAT and. 4.38 GPA. He was invited to apply to Honors.

You could check the my application site. That was where the scholarship information was posted for my son.

Yeah I haven’t gotten any notification either. It makes me paranoid as well! Good luck in your admissions :)

So there are no messages, announcements, nor alerts on My UCR. I guess it’s time to call and talk to Admissions.

Please let us know what you find out Minnymom!

Admissions decisions are posted daily! UCR released decisions way early this year, but that means the admissions counselors are still working through other applications. It doesn’t necessarily mean anything if you haven’t received an answer yet – MyUCR generally updates at midnight, so just check on a daily basis. Also double-check to make sure your MyUCR account is linked with your UC application ID number – otherwise, a decision won’t post on your profile.

Mystery solved… we had to link UC application ID number to MyUCR. Did this and saw fantastic news… Regents Scholarship!!!
Waiting for acceptances from other schools before making any decisions, but it feels good to see that award.

Thanks for the info…will check out the linking.

Did a majority of the people who got accepted get an email or a letter? A majority of my friends got in, my friend and I are freaking out now. Ugh. Good luck guys (:

As a confirmation of what Minnymom said earlier, my son was just accepted with $5000 a year, which is the same thing his brother got, so the timing may truly not be the important factor.

:)

Just found out yesterday that I was rejected. If UCI, UCSB, and UCSC all say no as well, then I will appeal. I’m really upset about it though.

@stvrling how did you find out? Did you just check the portal and it says rejected? I am sorry about the rejection. I hope one of the others come through for you. Did you apply to any CSU’s?
