Hey CC,
It is April 14th and I still have not received my decision from UMich.
I applied to Engineering undergrad and preferred admit to Ross. Should I be very concerned?
I know my counselor rec was very delayed and I have heard that 4/15 is their last day for admissions release.
Can anyone shed some light on my situation?

Just wondering, were decisions this late last year?
Because this seems remarkable. The only other school with rolling decisions (but not rolling admissions) that I applied to responded in mid-February, and most of my schools that had 31 March as a set date responded in mid-March.

I know someone who still has yet to be accepted … GC called UMich, and they said that they have still yet to make decisions for some people.

UMich really needs to make their admissions procedure more efficient. E.g. Stanford made decisions for 25,000 regular applicants in 3 months … it’s only fair that UMich people get decisions too, because people need to start making choices, and time is starting to run out.

That said, I wish good luck to those who are still waiting. Hopefully, the waiting game will end soon.

well if its any consolation, i heard the reason they are delaying so much is because they kinda screwed up and granted admission to too many students. so they are waiting for people to give their answer. thats what some girl on my mich tour said. i just rejected my offer, so that mighta freed up some space! good luck!

gilmorelove- are you serious, they over accepted?? That kills our chances for the people still waiting. was the girl your tour guide? or an incoming freshman?
I remember hearing that they deferred more students than usual from early response…?

That was last year when they first implemented Early Response scheme and was surprised with the overwhelming reponse. I doubt if they would make the same mistake this year.
