no e-mail confirmation?

I got an e-mail conformation for my supplement but not the common app. And it says "submitted" for the supplement and only "downloaded" for the common app? What does that mean?

when I applied It actually took a while before I got confirmation emails. So wait patiently.

By the way, when did you send your college board sat score reports? I just sent mine now and I'm worried that they are expecting it in their hands by nov 1.. Sending it today is okay right?

lwk1005, submitted means the commonapp site says you have successfully submitted it (and can't change it any more) and downloaded means the college has printed or otherwise extracted it from the commonapp website. The supplement status is somewhat suspect, as far as I can tell - for 4 weeks, my daughter's supplement status showed as submitted only, and today it shows as 'downloaded on 9/25'

oh ok so downloaded is better than submitted, i thought it was the other way around. So i guess im alright then.

and SaturnVroketo, you'll be fine, some people are submitting their act scores as late as mid november from the october act... For the SAT they said submit as soon as you get them and some people aren't getting their scores until tommorow, so yeah you are fine.

I submitted my common app/supplement some time ago, but I also still haven't gotten an email. The "Application Status" and "Supplement Status" spaces both say "Submitted 11/02." That's when I realized that I'm on the west coast and common app is on the east coast.

Does this mean the end of my poor, submitted-at-9:30-P-M application?

no, cuddlysheep, Stanford seems to be erratic about sending confirmation emails. It's been a month since my daughter submitted, and she never got any sent automatically. She emailed them 2 weeks ago about her art supplement, and they replied saying they had the 3 app forms she was responsible for.

You should see the status change to downloaded in a few days (though see my note on the Supplement status oddities) but Stanford's website only says they will email you if something is missing.

Hi guys, can you send me the web page where I can see the status of my son's apps. He submitted last night.
Do you get any email confirmation from Stanford telling you the webpage and info on how to oepn an account on the web page to check your status.

stanford doesn't have one - the commonapp site after you login will show you the colleges he has chosen so far, and for Stanford, would show you the status (the explanation is above the college list on the page)

Oh, maybe you misunderstood me...I submitted my common application/Stanford supplement at 9:32 P.M. western time on November 1. The common app site lists my common app/supplement as "Submitted 11/02."
I received a confirmation email from the Common Application for my supplement and for my payment, but not for my actual common app.

I'm worried. What should I do?

CuddlySheep, e-mail the tech support at the common app site to find out if the main common application went through. My son had a question regarding a similar situation, and they answered it surprisingly quickly. First they sent out an automated response that didn't resolve the situation, with directions on how to respond if that was the case. A short while later a direct response was sent. I was impressed. (And his submission had gone through smoothly!) I suppose you would have to contact Stanford regarding the date. I bet this happens frequently for West Coast schools. Good luck!

I just want to bump this b/c the common app said they received everything like 20 days ago and I still haven't gotten any confirmation or heard anything from Stanford yet...Have other people gotten confirmations yet?

stanford as far as I know is not sending email confirmations. Seems like a really work-inducing omission for them and for us.

I haven't heard anything yet, and I submitted over 2 weeks ago.

I haven't gotten a confirmation e-mail and I sent my application to them three weeks ago.

Same here....4 weeks and I haven't gotten any email confirming that Stanford has recieved my app....nice to know we are all in the same boat...

You won't get anything until mid-late November and only if something is missing.

If you call the admissions office, there's an automated reply that says you can expect an email from Stanford around 2 weeks after the Nov. 1st deadline that will confirm that they have received your application, list any materials you are missing, and give instructions on how to create an online account in order to check your admissions status come December.

This also applies to the Oct. 15th arts applicants.

Submitted application November15, 2007 and have not heard anything. Tried using their axess but it comes back showing no record. Is this a bad sign? How long do they take? It would be nice to show they have received everything.

Has anyone received any confirmation from Stanford? Or have received a reply from axess.stanford other than "We are unable to provide you..."?

It's been 3+ weeks.... and when I use axess it tells me that they are unable to provide information.... I am starting to worry - help!
