No EC's Good Chance?

I was never a really "EC" kind of person. Like when school ends, I just wanna go home, not to some club (usually).

Does this affect my chances for an Ivy?

LIke I mean, I only have like 5 EC's that I am really strong at (NHS, Calc Club, Anytown, Tutoring, and AcDec)

Can I still make it into an Ivy?

Really? No one can help me :'(

Ivies are looking for a strong interest shown in one subject, as well as leadership positions within that field. It doesn’t always have to be academic if it’s unique. You have to keep in mind the competition- kids that are really dedicated to something are definitely going to be picked over someone who isn’t.

“I was never a really “EC” kind of person. Like when school ends, I just wanna go home”

This attitude is exactly what colleges don’t want to see. When they’re looking at applications, colleges look to admit a student who not only is good academically, but will take part in many activities available to him/her and will be involved.

I said “usually” (; ^

BUt yeah, like what if I have leadership of 4 of those clubs (tutoring isn’t like a CLUB). Is that good?

So is it equal to somone taking a lot of EC’s.

Like if I take 4 with leadership positions. Is it equal to someone with many clubs and no leadership?

No. You’re better off than the person with many clubs and no leadership. Depth > breadth in college admissions.

thank you ^
