No ELC?

So I have a sinking feeling that something got messed up by the counselors when they were turning in transcripts for ELC review. I turned in the Parent Authorization form in June with everyone else, and I know they have until July to review it. All my classmates already received their ELC notifications, but I have yet to get mine. I read their requirements and I am absolutely sure I qualify. Is there anything I can do about this?

Also, in case I'm unable to get my ELC status, will this pose a disadvantage for me? I know UCs will show preference for ELC students. If they see my class rank and GPA and courseload, which all fall into the qualifications for ELC, but I am not marked as ELC status, will it be harder for me? Ugh, it would really suck if this is what happened just because of a counselor mistake.

Which reminds me, we STILL didn't receive our National Merit packet yet.

i didnt get elc. i got into cal, ucla with regents, ucsd with regents, and uci with regents (only applied to those 4).

so if you have the stats to qualify for elc but didnt make it for some odd reason (i had a B that was changed after getting a 5 on an AP test, and another B in band that my teacher later changed for me, so at the time i was not qualified for ELC), you wont be at a disadvantage.

i dont think they prefer ELC kids over others. its just that most ELC kids happen to have qualifying stats for the UCs (thus the huge acceptance percentage), not because of preference. im not sure how it works at the school that ELC kids are guaranteed admission into, though.

for some weird reason i didnt get it.
i have all As and hard courses. 4.4 college gpa. any reason why not?

ELC rly does not make a big difference. i mean, yea, it gives u the guarantee for like getting into one UC but its jut like a confounding variable (normally suck at stats) if u happen to get in all the UCs with ELC.

I thought ELC was granted to the top 4% in the class only.

Yup, it is, which is why I'm so confused why I didn't get the mail. I'm rank 1 in our senior class, took rigorous courses, satisfied a-g requirements, etc etc. So the only reason I can think of is a counselor screw-up x___x

take the counselor hostage

What is ELC?
