No elevators on dorm move in day?

My daughter just told me her room will be on the 10th floor. Now I'm thinking that's very cool. Ten floors up in LA you probably have a view of something. But then she told me we can't use the elevators on move in day. So, before I start looking to hire sherpas, I guess my question is really? We can't use the elevators on move in day?

The past 2 years I've been able to use elevators on move in day. Who told her we can't use elevators?

That's just absurd. Of course you can use the elevators on move-in day. Where did she get that notion from?

So, how crowded are the elevators? Or how long would an elevator ride to the 10th floor last on move in day? (Perhaps she was just thinking of me, who will not get in the elevator. Ten floors of stairs? Way less scary.)

just change your move in time to one early in the weekend/day

She just said her move in time is Friday night, so it sounds like we are good. YEAH!

Just head to the front of the line, or wait until you're there, and you have the elevator to your daughter and yourself. I assume you will be filled with 1-2 carts and other baggage. There won't be enough room for others. The ride should take no longer than a minute.

Yeah, it's just gonna take some time. Perhaps what she heard was more like "please don't use the elevators during peak hours when you're not carrying stuff so that it won't tie up the elevators as much."

you can request the move in day to be thursday.
