So my financial aid decision letter finally came back today...and I got nothing. Sigh. I mean, it's not impossible for my family to pay $40,000/yr for my college education, but besides being a huge financial strain, I'll also be graduating w/ a butt-load of debt. This makes it harder to turn down the UCs...

Is anyone else here planning on attending Pomona w/o a cent from the school?

i got 7,500 but i really wasn't expecting anything. i say you try going down to the financial aid office or calling them and telling them that's the only way you can attend or something like that. it's always worht a try, you got nothing to lose

D didn't receive any money, but then we'd been saving since she was born. Still, H has been unemployed since last May, so that's put a crimp in our budget. But, D plans to work part-time on campus to cover her incidental expenses.

talk to financial aid office
they might take the unemployment into consideration if you meet them in person.
the people there have always been nice when i go there but ive also heard horror stories about it too. I guess you just have to catch them on a good day. And it's always helpful to show them any other offers you had from other schools
