It doesn't look like usc offers finance which is what i was thinking of going for. what would be a good substitute?

Well, you can be a business major with a finance concentration :)

And would that have about the same value as an actual finance major? or is a degree from usc pretty good with employers anyways?

Yes, it would. I'm 110% positive it would. Every college does the same exact thing...you're working towards a degree in Business Administration and you're concentrating in a specific field (Marketing, Operations Management, Finance, International Business, etc.).

I dont know of any schools that offer a full major in just finance... finance is always a concentration within a Business Administration major.

I'm doing my concentration (within Marshall) in finance. Actually, there are 5 different concenrations (within the finance department) to choose from. Marshall has one of the best finance departments in the country. US News ranked it #11 overall. I think we're better than that.

You can do a concentration (which requires a minimum of four specific courses) in General Financial Management, Corporate Finance, Financial Analysis & Valuation, Investment Markets, or Real Estate Finance.
