In my student center portals, this is what my “View Financial Aid” section looks like after carelessly making multiple corrections to my fafsa wayyyy tf after March 1st

Estimated Need: 23,636.00

Total Aid: 0.00 <—wtf

Remaining Need: 23,636.00

School #2 (my local csu)
Estimated Financial Aid Budget: 16,226.00

Expected Family Contribution: 2,512.00 -

Estimated Need: 13,714.00

Total Aid: 0.00 <----wtf #2

Remaining Need: 13,714.00

I might not get any feedback on this. Thats okay. I guess this is just a reminder to all future college students to apply for aid as soon as possible and be 100% sure of the info in your FAFSA BEFORE the 3/1 deadline. Now I have to go to a community college after taking a useless gap year after high school.

@Bymack, I think you have until June to file the FAFSA. @kelsmom, can you confirm, please? You may not get school based grants but if you qualify for Pell I think you can still get that, as well as the ~$5500/year federal student loan.

@Bymack I have somewhat similar numbers for CSUSM and not only my aid was processed before 3/1, all corrections were done mid-february. I am thinking it’s some kind of mistake, since I am a resident of California… I will call them tomorrow and advise you to do the same for your dream school.

@austinmshauri Oh… well now I’m a lot less worried. I didn’t know it was that lenient. Thanks!

@lenocturne Yeah. I should try calling. Thanks for the advice!

@Bymack @lenocturne I have the same FA statement and I’m concerned that it’s wrong. Did you call the office and what information did you get?

@boiac24 One of the schools finally gave me my financial aid offer and I didn’t call them. For the other school, I found out that FA should be out soon(don’t know when exactly)
