No Financial Aid Package Yet?

We are starting to panic a bit. Most of what we are receiving is Needs Based. Just called Duke FA Office and the woman on the phone said that they are "swamped". And she couldn't give us any idea as to when we would be receiving the package. Ok. I understand, but how will we know how much to take out in loans?

Anyone else a bit nervous about financial aid?

Have you tried talking directly to your FA counselor (if you know who it is). He/she might have a better idea of when to expect your package.

Received our aid package Thursday. We are in-state.

We are out of state.

Can anyone advise me on how to start the loan process?

I mean, can we begin it if we don't know exactly how much we have to take out?

Our financial aid packet had information about applying for the Federal Plus loan. The form and instructions is also available online.

not certain if that is the loan information you were looking for and yes, you would need an idea of how much you need to borrow. Looking at the Bursar's Account through ACES would help. It's fairly up-to-date with charges for this coming semester and there's also a link for Expected Financial Aid in advance of receiving the actual packet.
