No Foreign Language Classes in High School

Hello,

While I was in high school, I was pretty much one of /those/ students who figured that foreign language classes in any year of high school was a waste of time due to the high probability of completely forgetting anything and everything you would have learned in that particular class/language, and in a short amount of time (unless one was really dedicated to learning a second language). From GACollege411 (a great website designed to guide people through the college process in Georgia) I was able to send my transcripts to several tech schools. I am hoping to major in computer engineering, but given my complete lack of foreign language credits since my graduation nearly two months back I doubt that I would be able to get into any 4-year in-state school.

Would community college be my only option? I ask because some community colleges within relative driving distance of where I live actually require a minimum of two years of foreign language. Is there something I can do to get in anyway besides sending them any test scores or transcripts (which may have to be done later anyway)?

Did you take any foreign language in middle school? It looks like the university system accepts credits from then.

I can’t remember, nor do I know how I would go about finding out.

Can you go to your middle school’s office and find out if they still have your records? Otherwise your best option is to go to CC that doesn’t require foreign language and apply as a transfer in two years.
