<p>So I'm leaving for college soon, and I'm excited because I don't really have any friends in my home town. I've realized, however, that when I come home during breaks, I'm going to be pretty bored and lonely... Has anyone else ever been in my situation? I am confident in my ability to make new friends at college, but I obviously can't hang out with them over breaks. I'm forced to move off campus my second year, and I've thought about renting an apartment year round, but even then most of my friends will probably go home during summer I'm assuming. Just wondering if hometown-lonliness is at all common here on CC.</p>
<p>I don’t have any friends at home, since now during the summer I live with my dad in a town where I don’t know anyone. Last summer was really boring, but I’m staying in my college town during the summer this year (and probably all years now) and so are most of my friends, so I don’t think that will happen again.</p>
