I never got the confirmation green card from UPENN, so I called the admissions office the other day.

They said it doesn’t matter and that it’s actually a good sign.

Anybody else have the same predicament?

If what the person at the office said is true , then does that must mean good news for ppl who didn’t receive the green confirmation card in the mail?

Does NO GREEN CARD mean most likely you are ACCEPTED?

i too called the admissions office and I was told that if you like citrus fruit but NOT oranges, then your most likely accepted. Further, I was told that not getting the green card actually means that your decsion would not be online and that you will need to run to philidelphia in order to get it

Or it means that it was lost in the mail. :P It'd be just great if everyone comes to the consensus that yes, not getting a green card is a good sign, and then an onslaught of green cards are sent out tomorrow.

But seriously, I can understand not receiving the card not not being a bad sign...

Well, I have a very qualified friend who also did not get the green confirmation card in the mail.

I called the admissions office and they said to not worry about it--that my application is under review with all the application materials completed and so that is it a good sign that I am in good standing of being accepted.

anybody else not get their green card in the mail and called the admissions office?

What is the green card anyway? I thought it was just confirmation that your application is complete... (really wouldn't know seeing as I didn't really get one).

emilyequalsfun, I see you all over place in the college-specific forums I frequent! (well, Cornell anyway)

Here's a thought: The admissions office got to your application real late and instead of sending out a green "everything is complete" confirmation card, they just went ahead and sent you your pin and password.

I doubt not getting a green card means that you are accepted. I got a green card and got accepted. Penn admissions office must be going cuckoo from all these calls and that's why told you that.

lol...ED people were optomistic, and frantic, but almost ALWAYS logical. this though, i mean, cmon man :) not getting a green card = accepted?? lmao, thats funny. thats taking optomism and turning it into a miracle. if your condition is the result of my "preaching", this is not what i intended haha. oh well, ill humor you and say its probably not a horrible thing to NOT get the green card :)

"Penn admissions office must be going cuckoo from all these calls and that's why told you that."

I think so too... If they told you "it's a good sign", you'll just stop bothering, and that's what they actually want.

It may be cause I'm international, but I got the letter till dec. 14, the notification date, even though it was postmarked more than a month before. But well... I was actually worried for not having received it.

Im impressed at people's feelings 1 week before decisions come out! ahhhhhhhhh!

admissions probably didnt have time to send the green card to everyone, so after a while they probably started to only send it to those with missing items. maybe your app was one that was looked at later than others (maybe like mine) so they decided not to send you a green card becasue you were missing nothing, therefore indicating a good sign. i'm hoping this is what he meant beacause it would be really horrible when decisions come out and i get rejected because they didnt recieve everything. (not that i could get in otherwise)

lmao...if anyone is extremely upset cuz he didn't receive a green card, i offer to send you one free of charge. just don't blame me if it brings bad luck.. :)
