In spite of all my efforts. I received an email from the head of alumni interviews for my area, requesting a copy of my standardized test scores. She wrote that once these had been received, I would be contacted about scheduling an interview. I mailed them to her office, but received no response. About a week later, I called her and asked if she had received the package. She said she had, and that I would hear from an interviewer within a couple days.

That was about a week ago, and I still haven't heard from anybody. I know that most alumni interview reports are due to colleges by mid-February, since committee meetings begin in March, so I wonder if it's too late to have an interview anyway. I've done all I can to have an interview, that's for sure. So will this be held against me?

Also, I wonder if it's typical for Harvard alumni to ask for test scores before interviewing applicants. No other colleges to which I applied (including Princeton) asked for scores before the interview. Is this some kind of selectivity process so alumni can weed out the applicants they don't think are worthy of their time? That would seem typical of Harvard, after all...

Im in a similar situation... I called my alum coordinator and he said that he would "definately" get me interviewed. This was a week ago and no word yet. So if I dont get interviewed, does look bad upon my application? Also, since I had to call him, does that mean I had already been out of the running and there was no need to interview me.. so basically are inteviews selective at all? Like no hopes dont get interviewed?

OH PLEASE....I hope someone knows the answer to this. I've been asking that for a couple of weeks.

I also had to contact the school to get the name of the alum coordinator for our area and basically was told the same thing.

But I just want to know if I'm out of the running and that's why they never bothered to contact me.............please does anyone know? Are there people who got in but never interviewed??????

I'm in a similar situation; I wasn't contacted for interview despite all my required documents being received already. I just called the Harvard Admissions because it's already past the 15th and I'm still sans interview. Anyway, they directed me to somebody in the area who manages the interviews. Apparently, the "real" and final deadline for sending in the interview stuff is early March (I think they said March 7th.), so the person interviewing me is supposed to call me anytime soon, heh.

If the real deadline is March, I'd probably call or email him just to make sure.

What you need to do if you have contacted the head of the alumni interviews in your area and still have not heard from an interviewer is this:
You need to get the name and email address of the Regional admission officer for your state. Then you need to email the regional admission officer and explain the situation. The regional admission officer is supposed to give the names of all the applicants in the region to the person coordinating the alumni interviews in your state. It could very well be a mix up and your name was not given to an interviewer, or the interviewer was given your name but never contacted you.
As for the person who said his scores were asked for, that is very unusual. The admissions office knows your scores. I am sure t is not up to the alumni office in your area to decide who should be interviewed and who should not be interviwed based on their SAT scores. I would tell the regional admission officer that they asked for this. If it is not appropriate they will tell you.
It is the regional admission officer who can contact the alumni club or the person coordinating interviews in your area and make sure you get an interview

ok this is really weird....
I have not received any info about Harvard interview!
What should i do? call the admissions office?????
Does anyone know the email/contact number for california's alumni/interview coordinator person
