Hey does anyone know of any schools that don't look at H.S. records for anyone? Im currently a freshman looking to transfer, but my H.S. GPA was bad, so im afriad that will hurt me. If anyonce can give me a list of some schools that dont look at HS grades it would be really great.

I think if you wait a year, your HS grades won't be given as much weight by any school.

Don't the UCs not look at HS records?

i think they still request hs transcripts after you've been accpted but iom not sruie

in Texas, UT doesn't look at high school grades. I'm guessing if UT and the UCs don't care about your high school stuff, most state schools won't in general. Every private school I've seen still wants to see them.

If you're a soph-transfer, they count about 50/50 anywhere, maybe a little less for public schools
If you're a junior-transfer, they count almost 0%, but they probably want to see them to make sure you didn't get like a 1.0 or something

lol damn. I had a 1.3 GPA at a certain point in HS.

As a lower division transfer you need to be UC eligible out of high school so the UC system will use your high school information. As a junior level transfer your high school record is not used for admissions. We will request your high school transcripts if admitted to see if we can satisfy some graduation requirements that can be met by high school coursework.

So jtrain351209, if you apply this year and will have less than 60 semester units completed we would use your high school record.

Whew, i'm OK as a UC junior transfer then. Thank god for second chances..

Oh wow, thanks for that clarification, UCD Rep.

Though I don't think I will be applying to the UC schools, I was never aware that they even looked at HS records for transfers.

Brand, do you know if Austin does?
