Hello all, I was just wondering if there were a list of schools I would be able to transfer to after 2 years. I will be starting college in the fall but I was not planning on going to this college at all. There was a bit of a mix-up and so I wasn’t able to apply to the colleges I originally wanted to. Do you know any colleges that allow transferring without considering high school transcripts? I know the UC schools do but are there others?
Thanks
P.S. I know there was another discussion of this topic on CC but it was pretty old (around 2009) and so a lot of the schools on that discussion have changed their transfer policies.
Your post is not very clear. You want to transfer after attending college for 2 years and ask which schools don’t consider HS records once you have 2 years of college? Is that the gist of it?
Most don’t consider HS records after two years of college. But you’ll have to look up the Common Data Set for each section D, to see if HS records are used at all.
The UCs don’t, find out more: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/uc-transfers/
Edit: also, its not too late to apply to your local CC
I already know about the UC schools not requiring hs transcripts but I was wondering if there were any other schools? I have also looked at the common data sets of a lot of schools, and almost all of them require it. That’t why I made this post here on college confidential.
CSUs in California also do not require high school stuff for junior-level transfers.
You don’t you have a high school transcript at all? That may matter. NYS colleges don’t require high school records for transfer if a student has a 2-year degree, but they require proof of high school equivalency to grant a degree. That can be accomplished by passing the TASC/GED, though, so it’s usually not an issue.
Most colleges won’t require it if you have completed two entire years. Some will request HS transcripts and test scores if they feel the college transcripts are insufficient information for basing a decision on. If you are enrolled in a CC and transferring directly to a public university (especially within the same state), you probably won’t have to furnish transcripts and test scores for admission as a junior. If you have attended multiple colleges, or changed fields of study, some colleges reserve the right to request additional materials. The simple answer is that you probably won’t need a high school transcript if you are applying to transfer after two complete years of college.
Is it advisable that I retake the SAT in college to help improve my scores and have better admission chances? I have a 1700 super score now.
I do, but they’re not the best looking grades
I don’t believe colleges will accept an SAT retaken in college. The test is designed for HS students.
College Board retains your scores for a number of years. There is no advantage to re-taking tests as a college student. It might even backfire against you.
