No honors college?

Hey guys,
I have been hearing from others that were accepted to Pitt that their acceptance letters also said that they got into honors college. However, I received my acceptance letter a couple weeks ago and it did not mention anything to do with honors. I have a 1500 CR+M SAT and a top 2% class rank. Shouldn’t I be automatically eligible?

This is from Pitt’s website

“In order to be automatically eligible to enroll in University Honors College coursework as an incoming freshman, we are looking for a combined SAT math and critical reading score of 1400 or a 32 ACT Math and English subscores average, an ‘A’ average in a challenging high school curriculum, and a top 5% class rank (if applicable). Transfer applicants are reviewed on an individual basis.”

I was just wondering why my acceptance letter didn’t mention honors (like many others’ apparently did) since I am automatically eligible for it?

@Copperrrrrrrrrrr, Congrats on your acceptance to Pitt! Typically, notification of Honor’s eligibility will come in the acceptance letter. However, there are some cases where a separate letter notifying students of their eligibility is sent. I would encourage you to shoot our office an email for further clarification: oafa@pitt.edu. An admissions counselor or processor can take a look at your account and give you some more information.

Best,
A Pitt Admissions Staffer

@hailtopitt1787 Ok, I will do that. Thanks!

@Copperrrrrrrrrrr did you get your letter yet?

@golfstudent13 I emailed Pitt and they told me that they had made a mistake and that I would receive a letter soon, though I haven’t received it yet.
