My son submitted all of his data by the first week in May. We realize that he missed the initial lottery - but when should we expect to hear re housing contracts? At what point should we be calling and asking questions?? I understand we won't hear about roommates until August, but it would be nice to know where he is going to end up - he applied for LSA honors housing.

Make sure that your son is checking his Housing Status at
housing.umich.edu daily. I submitted my app on April 5th and was issued a contract on Jun 16th so you might have to wait a bit longer but call the Housing Informations Office just to be safe.

Thanks - just called them and they said 8-10 weeks (WOW)! So he will just have to keep checking!

hey azure.. how exactly do they issue the contracts ?? is it all done on wolverine access or do they send a copy of the contract to your house ?

i need housinnnnng.

Yes, you get a physical contract in the mail.

E-mail housing to make sure that you will be getting housing eventually.

If housing says you're likely not going to get housing, then go to the contract reassignment board on the housing webpage, where you can get the contract of returning students who signed up to live in university housing, but have since decided to go off-campus.

For guys: http://roomswap.housing.umich.edu/bb_results.cfm?bb=Reassign&sex_id=1

For girls: http://roomswap.housing.umich.edu/bb_results.cfm?bb=Reassign&sex_id=2

You'll have to e-mail the person, make an agreement that you can have their contract, then make the exchange official at the university housing office anytime after August.
