Well, my story is quite weird and long.

I am a 21 year old female, and a sophomore in community college. I went to high school for freshman year and my grades were horrible as I was not concerned with college at that point. I was supposed to go to summer school, but being that it was an expensive Catholic school, that was a problem. We were in the process of moving and lots of other **** happened during the next four years. There was only public school available and my daddy absolutely refused to put me in one, which was fine with me at the time. So, I was basically unschooled. I did not have a set curriculum, but I would teach myself some of the subjects one would learn during high school.

When I was 18, I attended an adult school which was a part of a high school that allows adults to get a diploma by completing some high school courses. I finished this program, etc etc. went to college.

My dilemma is that I feel like I have not matured much for someone my age. I feel like I have missed out on the opportunity to "grow" while in high school. I feel as though I'm 17, and I look it too. I feel like I could go back to a real high school for at least senior year if not junior and senior. Like, it REALLY bugs me that I have missed out on the high school experience.

My question to you all is would it seem fitting to try and go back to high school for a year or two just to get it out of my system? I've heard of some stories where a senior goes back to high school so I'm wondering if I could? I wouldn't be worried about what people think of my age as I'm quite sure I would fit in, given my lack of experience in life. =

Thanks for reading.

I think that would be weird…:l.

I’m going to tell you, you would NOT fit in. Even if you look and feel 17, you’re not 17. In addition, why would any school let you go back to high school? What classes would you take? It’s all around just a silly idea.

Sorry you missed out, but you have to move on from here.

The parents forum may have some more constructive replies, but I don’t think going back to high school is a good idea.

If my high school is any indication, and using common sense, you probably haven’t missed much other than…partying, sleeping, resting, hanging out, school events, etc…nothing that’s in HS that’s not in college (and the quality is worse, too, from what I heard).

You sound more mature than many high schoolers, and *** is “maturing in high school”? Probably doesn’t happen to a majority of HS kids, IMO.

I want to post more, but 15 seconds was enough. I want to call ■■■■■, but I’ll see.

I’d vote for you for prom queen if you buy me beer and cigarettes.

Lol thanks for the replies. I’m no ■■■■■.

@ qwerty, well I would probably take chemistry and calculus, since those are pretty much the only courses I haven’t taken, and maybe a history class or two. but then again, I can do that in college.

@ Invoyable, good question about what is maturing in HS. It’s just something I assume happens for a few people. You do make valid points about not having missed much and that pretty much the same things are in college.

Lol @ batllo, no thanks!

Thanks again you guys. I guess I just needed input on it, and I actually feel a bit better.

This “charming” British guy came to our school. He’s older than us (i.e. college-age, and he’s attended some college), yet he was put in my sophomore math class? It was really creepy. >.> Then again, you’re not a guy, but it’s still a bit odd. I never want to be with my own age group most of the time, IDK why anyone would want to after graduating. :p

These transfer students came to our school, and among them was this really cute college aged kid. He was nice and I talked to him for a while, but he did not fit in.

I don’t think he really had the “true high school experience”. You’re better off maturing in the real world and making friends your own age.

Aww thanks for the stories emory and fairy. I think I would probably get annoyed by the less mature people too.
