No ID or PIN

<p>Hi! I'm applying RD but I finished my app and supp in November. I've yet to receive any sort of user ID or PIN to check the status of my app. Was I supposed to? And if so, who should I contact? Thanks!</p>

<p>I doubt that they’ve gotten around to assigning PINs or user IDs yet for RD. Even though you turned in your app in November, most of the RD applicants did not, and they were busy getting IDs and PINs out to the ED applicants. Be patient, and you will receive one in the mail eventually.</p>

<p>I spoke with the Fin Aid office at Smith yesterday to make sure we hadn’t missed an email with directions for IDOC (we haven’t–emails are supposed to go out first week in Feb.). But while I was talking to them they offered to give me D’s id number. So I know she is in the system, but we still can’t access bannerweb as she doesn’t have a pin. Not sure how to get that. </p>

<p>Thanks, SmithieandProud. I was concerned because most (if not all) of my other schools have given me login info but Smith had not. Would you happen to know at what point I should be expecting the mailing?</p>

<p>Sorry, I don’t know when you’re likely to get it, but it will come by mail or email. The Admissions Office sends out the IDs and the PINs, and you may be able to get them in advance by calling that office and asking. But more than likely they will just tell you they haven’t sent them out yet and they will soon.</p>

<p>I’m gonna send my finaid documents and they said that I must include student’s Smith ID# but I still didn’t get one…</p>

<p>I am getting worried too. I got the letters from all the other colleges that I’ve applied to except for Smith College. Smith College is my first choice and this is worrying me too much. Anybody else in the same situation?</p>

<p>Yes my dd hasn’t gotten hers either. I wouldn’t sweat it too much.</p>

<p>I finally got mine by email a few days ago. Took me forever to actually find my application status, though. So confusing! I wish they’d use different sites for current and prospective students, but I guess they have their reasons.</p>

<p>Ok, so I got my ID & PIN, but when I log on it doesn’t list my app status. I followed the instructions (“Click on Admissions Menu, Click on View Application Status”) but there is no link for “processed applications.” Instead, it asks me to apply for admission. Huh?</p>

<p>Ok, nevermind; that’s fixed itself. What does it mean if the “application preference” says “not entered”? Sorry for the confusion…</p>

<p>I don’t think application preference really means anything. If I remember correctly mine stayed as “not entered” for the entirety of the application process. They won’t be posting application results on a rolling basis. On the day that they release results you’ll get a particular link to check whether you are in or not.</p>
