No idea how to select courses

hi people, i've been admitted to ucsd-revelle for the fall term, but as of now i have no idea how to select courses. do we wait until we're on campus? or do we have to do it now?

by the way, because i applied as a social science major, is it possible to switch to bio major? because now i really want to go into pre-med and i have no idea how switching major in ucsd works. thanks in advance!

stop worrying and wait for orientation

premed is not a major

bio is impacted

Don’t worry about registration right now - you WILL register for classes before school starts, but the school will tell you everything you need to know about everything at orientation. You can always plan ahead by going onto tritonlink and looking at the schedule of classes for fall (when they get put up), but you can’t register yet, and you may not even know what classes you need to take yet, so just sit tight for now.

About switching your major to bio…this page is a good resource for you: enrollmentmanagementfaq

It’s easy to switch majors except when they are impacted (which happened to the bio major just recently)

What makes you think you have to be a biology major to be a premed student?

-from a fellow social science major/premed

Other than the bio, what other majors good for pre med?

you come to college to study something that interests, excites, challenges, and motivates you. if you merely use your ~4 years here as a stepping stone to med school, that’s a guaranteed way to fail.

people get into med school with all sorts of majors. within my group of acquaintances, we’ve got the usual bio/chem/biochem, along with physics, history, english, Buddhist studies …

about bioengineering? thanks.
