no internship

My college is requiring me to have an internship but I have been looking since I became a sophomore and now I am a senior in college on my last semester. I have applied (I counted) to 437 different internships and I never got an interview. I have worked at 3 different retail stores. I am not sure what to do?

I have asked the college for help but they said "keep looking" and that's all.

Been there, doing that. Thankfully, son’s college does not require an internship to graduate.

IMO, the college “should” help you find an internship if it’s a grad requirement, but we all know people don’t do what they should do.

I would ask the college if they would count working at a lab on campus, even if it’s on a volunteer basis, to see if they would count that towards an internship. I would at the same time ask professors if they would be willing to take you on as a lab assistant so that you can even go with something in hand in support of your argument to use a lab job as your internship requirement.

Good luck to you and congratulations on your upcoming graduation!
