Dear all, I'm an international student from Hong Kong. My parents just convinced me to apply to Wellesley two days ago, and I've just got the school materials ready to be sent this week. However, I've just discovered the request for interview deadline is past waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy long ago. I'm wondering (although it says its optional..) will I be seriously disadvantaged if I didn't do an interview? I'm seriously panicking =/

The interview is very optional. Plenty of people do fine without having had one. Even if you had met the deadline, it also would have depended if there were someone available in your area and I think it's more common for international applicants to face that problem.

Thanks for the message! I feel a lot better now =)

i agree with FemmeFatale. i also missed the interview request deadline while i was applying to wellesley and was still accepted. when i emailed them about it they reassured me that not having an interview would not affect my chances for admission.

My friend got in without an interview.

Yep, I applied very late (turned the application in on Jan. 1, as Wellesley was my very very last choice at that time), so I didn't have a chance to get an interview. But I was accepted!

Don't worry, I applied from Taiwan and I didn't get an interview because they have no official registered alumni there (even though I know many alumnis in the area). I still got in :)
