I live in New York and i still did not get an interview from Columbia.
What does it mean? Did you ever hear of a student who got accepted to Columbia without the interview?

i am getting desperate.

dont worry about it.

i believe THEY contact YOU upon space availability. by now, i don't think there is any more space, but it's not a requirement, so don't worry.

1) Interviews need to be completed by March 1. There's still plenty of time.

2) Plenty of people get in didn't interview. Interviews are based on availablity. There's nothing you can do about it, and there's nothing to worry about.

3) NYC has tons of applicants. The chances of getting an interview in NYC aren't that good.

i think it's strange that ppl on LI get interviews w. ppl in NYC, while some ppl in NYC do not get interviews.

strange....

thank you for your responses.

What if two people are from the same school, and one gets contacted for the itnerview, while the other doesn't? This happened to me and a good friend and I was wondering if this means anything. She has higher SATs (nearly 100 points), but my GPA is like 1.5 higher than hers. Obviously, a lot more is considered in the app than those two things, but what does this mean?

oh btw, if it means anything, i was the one contacted.

it doesn't mean anything...bec of address too ><

I think that could also mean your application isn't completely done. The final piece of my application wasn't scanned until 01/31, and I was emailed for an interview on 02/03.

as far it being about the address, she lives closer to the interviewer than I do (and we're only like 4 miles from each other). I've been tracking my application online, and it's all received..and I think hers is too.

What I thought they said at the information session was that the interviews are granted only to some people. It is basically random (it doesn't mean they're leaning one way or another), but those who submit their applications earlier are usually more likely to receive one. It can help you, but not having one shouldn't hurt you. That being said, I have no idea how I managed to get one. I procrastinated like no other...

It is basically random. Submitting early doesn't really mean much.

Means nothing. Nobody is comparing you two.
