I know Yale (and most other colleges) simply cannot get to every student that applied for interviews. However, I have still not been contacted for an interview. I live in a large metropolitan area, so there should be no shortage of alumni interviewers. Furthermore, my school consistently sends a number of applications and at least a few students to Yale each year. To the best of my knowledge, all of my classmates who applied have already been contacted and had their interviews. I, too, have had interviews with all other colleges I applied to.

I know I'm freaking out a bit much, and probably being obsessive about this but does this mean anything for me in terms of admission? Why would they choose not to interview me?

It’s the numbers. In my area, we had over 500 applications. At the end, approx 30 or so were never assigned and never interviewed or contacted. That’s just how it played out.
IT DOES NOT correlate to your relative chances because we KNOW NOTHING about you. You might be accpted or rejected but it won’t be because of the interview. * The vast MAJORITY of kids who are interviewed are rejected* – b/c Yale’s admit rate is so tiny.

Think about it… Let’s say 80% of applicants actually interview. Among them, ~94% will be rejected. That means 75% of all applicants (29,790 people) are both interviewed AND rejected.

T26E4, what about international students?? Do any of international students get accepted without interview? Have you heard and read (since you are a veteran on CC ) about an international student getting accepted without interviews, keeping in mind that chances of getting accepted are already miniscule either way?
