I have not received information about the interview. I live in South Dakota so I think there might not be an alumni here but I did not get a phone/e-mail interview either. Is anybody in same situation as I am?

bump am I the only one without an interview...?

I'm international and no interview for me.

Unfortunately, since it is after March 1 it is too late to get an interview. That was the deadline. Not having an interview will not hurt your application, however.

There have been instances of phone interviews after the deadline passes.

I just think it's really weird that it seems like I'm the only one without an interview.

Don't worry, I never heard from anyone either.

spark: 5-10 percent of applicants don't get interviews. You are not alone.

some people get e-mail interviews.

So does being contacted for and having an interview at all reflect the college's interest in you?

No, it usually means that they don't have an alumni in your area who is an interviewer. There are several schools that I applied to that don't have alumni that live near me, so I didn't get an interview for those schools.

ivyguy: Being contacted for an interview at Brown has nothing to do with the college's level of interest in you. If you were not contacted for an interview, it is because there was no alum who lives near you, or the alum assigned to interview you was lazy/overworked/had a health emergency, etc., and did not contact you and did not notify the area chair (who is also an alum).

We alumni try hard to contact every student, but some fall through the cracks. (And sometimes we get really discouraged, because so many wonderful applicants that we supported don't get in.)
