Since the interview things have to be in by the Dec 1st, does that mean that I wont be getting an interview?

Also, what time do they usually acll, because no one is usually at my house between three and six in the evening. Do you think it is possible that I could have missed the call????

me too, anxious. its so weird, my friend who is also applying to columbia (we go to the same school) got an interview but i didnt. possibly its because she's applying to SEAS and i'm applying to CC....but i cant help but think that my app didnt get very far with the adcoms :(

the "interviews are the ones who they're not sure about" thing is totally wrong. The way they do interviews is on a first-come first-serve basis with the Part 1 applications. The sooner you sent in the part 1s, the better chance you had of getting an interview. It also depends where you live, because these interviews are conducted by alumni. In some areas, there probably won't be as many alumni available to do interviews.

you guys really shouldn't feel bad though. for one thing i'm sure you both are really qualified. Secondly, Columbia knows that not all ED applicants are going to get interviews, so it won't weigh against you at all.

good luck! I'm sure you all are going to be fine, stop stressing =).

I do an excellent job on interviews (I have done around 10 interviews for various things in the past two years, and got accepted into every job/school that I apllied to). So I am really *ed that I did not have an interview, and I am really *ed because I know the guy who would interview me, but I can't go up to him and ask him, can you interview me?

hmmm.. well i get your theory carrera. cus i do so well on interviews too and i had a great interview for columbia on the 2nd of nov.
but i mean its not like that is what is gonna get me in..

i think the interviews really dont count for much. its not like the adcom officer is the one thats seeing u in person...
so everything they receive about u is a written document.. well and that optional photograph..
so everyones pretty much on equal footing

and yes i think the interviews are dished out first come first serve.
i submitted part 1 in august ..

I hope you do anxious! There's still time, my interviewer said in the email that he was away on business and therefore could not contact me until now.

wrong about first come ,first serve : I sent in part 1 one week before deadline , just got interview email... probably because im one of those not sure cases (good everything, lousy grades)

you guys...interviews aren't even assigned by admissions committee people - it's organized by the Alumni Relations Committee (ARC), a group that does not have your application (besides your residence info etc).
