I received a used laptop from my dad but it broke down, so I need a new one..
but as you all know the economy's a bit down, so I don't want to put pressure on my dad

Is it possible to study in Berkeley without a personal computer or a laptop?
(is there a computer lab that's open till late?)

I'll be taking History 7A, Math1A, Astronomy C20, and Philosophy 12A

Your inputs will be greatly appreciated ^_^

Just bring your desktop. If you look at previous threads, people have done it in the past and it worked out just fine for them.
I’m going to be bringing mine too.

You will need a computer of your own, you grades will likely suffer without one. Bring your desktop if you have one, otherwise it looks like you will have to buy a new laptop quickly

If you live in the dorm’s you can go down to the Academic Services Center to use the computers. It’s very inconvenient though and I highly recommend that you get one for yourself. laptops are pretty cheap these days. You can easily get one for 400-600 on sale.

It’ll be tough without any computer b/c you’re gonna for sure have bSpace to pick up your work assignments and if any of your classes are video-taped, you’ll need it to watch the videos or review the slides n’ whatnot. If you have to do a research project same thing applies, so it can be a huge handicap.
