Is it true that acceptance letters should arrive quickly? It's now Tuesday and I'm still waiting, which makes me expect a rejection/deferral.

However, I live in NC. How long should it take?

However, I live in NC. How long should it take?

No, there's no truth to that rumor at all. Everything seems to have been mailed on Friday by FirstClass USPS mail.

It's possible your letter will arrive today--good luck! I'm waiting for mine as well (AZ here)....

I'm in Raleigh, waiting at my house (skipping my indy study). I'll make sure and tell you if I get it!

I will, Gamma. I live in the western part, so we had a snowday today. Btw, Gamma, there is only one other NC person besides us on Wiki and he had much lower stats and got deferred. I expect a deferral: I've looked at deferral stats and mine are similar, except my verbal (which is a lot higher). They all seem to have really good stats and your typical activities. I think that includes me: I should have hyped up mine more. Although this one girl from GA got in with 1480/750 SATII avg, and she did NHD (state finalist), and I have similar (ok better stats), and I was a NHD (national finalist) so I feel like they arbitrarily picked her over me. We're too similar. Okay. I'll stop whining.

I'm at MD and I haven't received it yet, I checked my mail TODAY

Now I really really have a bad feeling that I'm going to get rejected or deferred because everyone who got accepted has gotten it already.

Sigh...the mailperson was ACROSS THE STREET and wouldn't give me my mail. He wouldn't even let me look at the sizes of the envelopes! Once he goes around my ENTIRE neighborhood, I should get it. Oh, and jellybean, yeah it seems completely arbitrary and pure luck as to acceptance/rejection. I'm personally hoping for deferral just because I see acceptance as close to impossible. At least you have the rural card to play?

Well, did you get it? :D

Ahhh...still...waiting. Dastardly mailman!
Raven: What part of AZ? I've lived in Tucson, Flagstaff, Phoenix and Nogales

"Is it true that acceptance letters should arrive quickly?"

Last year they Fedexed acceptances, so it was true. This year everything seems to be arriving together...

They should've used Fedex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Apparently, three of my friends in Michigan got their mails and I'm the only

one who didn't get the mail yet. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

The best part of AZ, of course... Tucson :D

That does seem kind of strange. I got mine today but some people didn't get theirs around here. Do you think the rejection and deferral letters were also first class?

others in my school got theirs but i didnt...(md)

Hah, my safety is U of A - I lived off of Broadway. You wouldn't happen to go to Ricon (or that little high school inside of it)?

some other people in ohio have gotten theirs, both accept annd reject, but i have not and they got theirs monday,

I still haven't gotten mine either in GA

I got it! I got it! (And got in!) Best of luck to you all.

(Oh, and actually. Not rural. Asheville. Suburbs.)

havent got mine yet and

went to get the mail today and there was nothing from stanford

oh I live in CA

since i live so close (70 miles) i think they lost my hopeful package

hey raven, i used to live in tucson (a really long time ago)! do you go to UHS?

Yea, I was talking about UHS when I was talking about the little high school within Rincon. I have a lot of friends there! You know anyone at UHS Koala? Heh silly penguins. I miss Lucky Wishbone. And the Wildcats. And everything else there. Alack!
