i am in second year engineering but this program is not as intriguing as i expect so i wonder which other related majors can i switch to?

Do you mean to say that you have completed your freshman year and will be a sophomore?

Majors that may make use of the math and/or physics courses that you have taken, so that you are less likely to be “behind” in completing your major within eight semesters or twelve quarters:

Other types of engineering
Physics
Math
Statistics
Computer science
Economics

Well what if you can’t find that in other majors also?
Is it because you didn’t have time to join clubs? It could be the school and the overall learning atmosphere.

You need to figure out what you want to do for your job/profession after college. If you think you would like doing what engineers do, but don’t like the freshman courses that can still be OK. Many freshman simply do many math/science problem sets. But engineering jobs are very different from that. So make sure you distinguish between enjoying 4 years of your life and learning what you will need to enjoy the rest.

If he is really just a rising sophomore, I would imagine it is because he hasn’t taken many classes that are actually involved with his major. Justsayin…
