No luck getting into this college course, is it really over for me?

I'm currently enrolled in a cuny school for a two year program. I've checked cunyfirst every second of the day, but the chemistry course I need is closed. I've emailed professors, dept managers, and advisors. Everyone's saying they can't help me! What can I possibly do? If I can't take this class now I'm basically screwed.

Can you take the course at a different campus?

If there is a waiting list for space in the class, see if you can get put on it. Otherwise, you will just have to continue to check back a couple times a day and grab a space if one opens up.

I checked, I can’t take the course at a different campus. There also isn’t a waiting list. Guess Ill just have to hope for the best.

I know you said that you emailed the professors, but did you ask if you could be on “stand by” and basically hang out at the back of the room. That way if someone does drop out, you do not have to try to catch up.

I didn’t ask that. That’s something I definitely will do. Thanks for the tip!

Yeah, theres normally enough of people going away through tests to gdt in, st least thats been my experience.

Yeah. You’re ****ed. Your life’s over.

Ignore him, hes a ■■■■■

Show up at the class and talk to the prof to see if s/he might let you in, or as hm1 suggests, ask if you can attend for a while to see if some openings occur. It is easy to slough off an email, but it is a little harder to look a student in eye and tell him that there’s no room.
