tattters can you post the exact quote from your letter please?
And if you want, stats and majors?
Does it say you’re in to the Jacobs School of Engineering?

Thank you tattters.
Hm, this is weird. I’m just nervous now. Not really sure who to ask, I’ll ask at school Monday to see if they know anything.

Hmmm I don’t know how UCSD does admissions, but maybe it has something to do with the college?

Try not to worry to much about it! These sort of things cause unnecessary stress :P

i’m in same boat, too
i applied for biology major and got admission to muir college as undeclared…

It’s good to know there’s more people in the same boat. Who would we talk to to figure out whether we should go to UCSD in hope of getting the major or not? Who would know a lot about this?

Oh lovely. Did more reading, with regard to BME majors. At UCI, Biomedical Engineering: Premedical, is “The undergraduate major in Biomedical Engineering: Premedical (BMEP) is not designed to be accredited, therefore is not accredited by ABET, Inc.” They say it is designed to be a pre-medical school program. Read here: [Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Engineering: Premedical](http://undergraduate.eng.uci.edu/degreeprograms/biopremed/)

The one at UCSD is. But we weren’t accepted as of yet.
Come on, Jacobs, mail us before we get more confused!

Read this too:
[FAQs | UC San Diego, Department of Bioengineering](http://www.be.ucsd.edu/undergraduate/faqs#FAQ_Programs_GenIssues_3)

That’s one of the reasons why UCI isn’t high on my list.

I’m 99% sure I’ll be going to UCSD. I’ll figure out what I’ll do when I get there. At least I’m in at this point, so I can’t complain too much. I’m astounded at the stats of many who were rejected/waitlisted.

Yes, lots of people with awesome stats are waitlisted. It’s happened to many people I know, UCSD is getting so incredibly selective. I’m super relieved I’m in, but I’m worried now, as I’m not in to an credited biomed engineering program anywhere. This is such a headache. -_-
