I have 760 math in SAT I, 740 Chem, 800 Physics and I want to study engineering.

What do you mean? Math II, as in calc BC/college equivalent? And it depends on all your other stats.

EDIT: OH! do you mean the subject test? It’s too late now, isn’t it? And yes, you should still have a chance depending on all your other stats

Why should having a subject score in Math II matter?

^ There used to be a rumor back when I was applying (not sure if it is/was true), that having an SAT II math score was a requirement to apply and get into Berkeley and some other UC’s.

[Prospective Freshman FAQ — UC Berkeley College of Engineering](Prospective freshman FAQs - Berkeley Engineering) says

yes I mean SAT II Math level 2.
I saw the quote posted by UCbalumnus and I that’s why I posted this thread.
I’m scared… lol

I can imagine an admissions committee person wondering why you did not take Math Level 2, since that is generally considered to be an easy 800 for the type of student likely to be admitted to Berkeley engineering.

has anyone gotten in without math 2? please respond?

You kinda need math II to show that you are competitive. Math II is Math I on a whole box of steroids.

yes, for L&S

It’s not * required*, just strongly recommended - and seeing as it’s december already, you probably applied and it’s too late to change anything now, so just wait and see what happens.

there is an outside chance if you want to take a gamble - take a math II SAT II test now, and if you are one of the very few who receive a request for supplemental information early next year, you will be able to provide the grade in the responses you enter online (and it will be sent to Cal by the code you enter when taking the test.

The odds are huge that it won’t matter, but if you are on the borderline and receive the supplemental request, having a good SAT II score might help tip your case over to the acceptance bucket. Depends on how much this worries you and how much you want to attend Cal.

Nvm, disregard this post.
